Members of the newly inaugurated Otu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OTUCCIMA) have been charged to work assiduously and show commitment to the association with a view to achieving functional, viable and robust representation at the National and International levels.
The remarks were part of submissions made by various guest speakers who spoke at the Inauguration and induction of OTUCCIMA Members.
The epoch event which featured large gathering of OYCCIMA delegates from Ibadan,Oyo,Ogbomoso,Saki, Iseyin and Kishi also had in attendance Captain of Industries and Paramount Rulers in the ancient town.
While speaking on the objectives and benefits of the chamber, OYCCIMA President who doubles as President Oodua chamber, Chief Isaac Wole Akinwande,Vice President OYCCIMA Dr. Daniel Gbadero, a veteran Broadcaster and former President SAKICCIMA Alhaji Supo Busari and OYCCIMA Treasurer Dr. Ganiyu Adebowale Adebayo, said the aim of the scheme is to see to the promotion and expansion of commerce and economic activities as well as promotion of mutual interest of it’s members.
The speakers also assured the Members that the Chamber will provide the needed support to facilitate their businesses both locally and internationally.
They admonished OTUCCIMA President, Mr JB Kehinde of Jaybee Ventures to think outside the box and draw plans of attracting more members.
In his speech, a Chartered Accountant, Dr. Ganiyu Adebowale who educated members of OTUCCIMA on the essence of record keeping and documentation, laid emphasis on stewardship reporting and admonished OTUCCIMA President Mr JB Kehinde to be transparent and accountable and use his connections for the benefit of the association.
In his goodwill message, Chairman, Itesiwaju Local Government Hon. Ojo Bolaji Akintola congratulated OTUCCIMA on the auspicious occasion and pronounced his membership. He assured the Association of his Government’s support.
Also, the Oniro of Otu Oba Sunday Adepoju Ayilola advised OTUCCIMA Members to make their businesses to be viable.
He explained the functions of the Chamber and called on NACCIMA and OYCCIMA Leaders to ensure that the plan to establish a Bank in the town come to fruition.
The Executives of the newly established OTUCCIMA are Mr JB Kehinde as President, Alhaji Wasiu Olaribigbe Vice President, General Secretary Alhaji Bello Rasaq, Asst General Secretary Mr Saka Kamoru, Alhaja Faisat Ogunjimi Treasurer and Mr Obansola Kehinde Vice Treasurer among others.
The event had in attendance the Odofin of Saki Land, Chief Isaac Koleosho, the Onisia of Iwoye Otu, Oba Isiak Ayantunde Olaluwoye and representative of Onibise in Council, led by Sobaloju Ibise Otu, Chief George Adesina among others.
